Father Ricardo Bailey

Father Ricardo Bailey
Father Bailey serves as a teacher and chaplain at Blessed Trinity, an Atlanta-area Catholic High School. He has strived to impact the lives of young adults by “meeting them where they are”, even if it means through a Top 40 radio station. He has become widely known for his alter ego, “Father Crunk”, who makes occasional appearances on Q100 (WWWQ-FM).

Father Ricardo Bailey was born in Atlanta and was baptized at Our Lady of Lourdes. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and St. Thomas More Catholic School. He completed his high school at Shamrock High School in DeKalb County, then graduated from Xavier University in May of 1997 with honors and with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. He then went on to St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, MD to continue the Program of Priestly Formation, and completed his seminary studies in 2003 with a Bachelor Degree in Sacred Theology (S.T.B.) and a Masters of Divinity Degree (M.Div.). He was ordained in Atlanta in June, 2003. Father Bailey is in residence at Transfiguration Catholic Church.
