L. Denise Wells is an award-winning author and John C. Maxwell certified speaker with a storied career spanning over 25 years. Her experience traverses government, corporate, and creative spheres as a communications strategist, certified Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) advisor, thought partner and transformational leadership coach.
Her passion for driving change and fostering growth has been recognized across various industries, solidifying her as a thought leader in the realm of individual and organization enhancement.
Denise’s first published work is the award-winning “An Anthology of Sisterhood” – a compilation of more than 100 original pieces commissioned from twenty-two dynamic women/sisters who are members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This 2013 NAACP nominated publication, with its forward written by the late, legendary Ruby Dee, was named an African American Literary and Indie Award nominee, received the 2015 Black Women in Jazz and Fine Arts Visionary Award and the 2016 Writer Ball Best Publication in Print Honor. Also, this work has also been deemed required reading for a popular Ethnic Studies course taught at Santa Barbara College in California.
L. D. Wells serves as co-benefactor of the Ruby Dee Legacy of Sisterhood Scholarship which designates funds annually for deserving young college women studying Humanities.
L. D. Wells obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Georgia and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Central Michigan University with a Master of Arts degree in Instructional Technology.
She is the mother of one son, Devon, and lives in Atlanta, GA.
