Juan leads Morehouse College’s MART Therapeutic Biomaterials Research Lab, which is charged with creating solutions to treat osteoarthritis. The National Science Foundation recently funded the lab’s work on the 3D printing of smart therapeutic biomaterials as injectable hydrogels for tissue engineering and as bio-inks for cellular therapies.
Juana earned her bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and her doctorate degree from Clark Atlanta University. Prior to her appointment at Morehouse, she did her postdoctoral work at Emory and Cornell universities.
She is president and founder of TheraViscTM, LLC, a company focused on injectable gels to treat osteoarthritis.
